O2 Fanclub

An award-winning employee recognition scheme.

O2’s old recognition scheme wasn’t working: people weren’t really aware of it and not many knew how it worked.

To make the scheme more of a two-way thing, we created a social network called Fanclub. The idea is that everyone at O2 has their own profile page, and can post ‘applause’ on the walls of colleagues who they think deserve recognition. If someone’s really stood out, people can leave a ‘Superfan nomination’ which is entered into O2’s recognition scheme.

The site has been extremely successful. Over 81% of O2’s employees use it, and it won an IoIC award (formerly CiB) in 2009.

How?
The site is built in PHP with jQuery.
